How to create a new website

Select a template

The "Choose your website" link leads you to our template list. For each template, you may visit the related test site or or create your own website by cloning it.

Creating your website is very simple. You enter a few details and confirm. Your website will be available in a few seconds.
An email sent by SevenDaysWeb provides essential information to get started.

Templates are organized into the following types:
  • Blog - to propose topics and publish details about your activity and experience. Manages comments on individual posts.
  • Journal - news, directories, analysis and also comments from readers, though not a core feature as in the Blog type.
  • Portfolio - classic brochure site with company profile, products, services and insights. May provide a simplified blog section and manage comments from readers.
  • E-Commerce - website aimed at organizing and managing online sales. Shopping cart, delivery, payment via pay-pal or credit card.
  • Social Commerce - for some,  the evolution of modes of communication requires more than blog and portfolio. Social commerce combines the features of portfolio, blog and e-commerce. The perfect solution if you don't have many products, but much to say about them.

How to choose the right template

Visit the test sites to guide you in your choice. See for example the differences in appearance between blog and portfolio to get an idea of the different approach to communication.

Each type of site may have features and functions typical of others. For example, you can add blog and e-commerce features to a portfolio or journal website.
These features can be added at a later time, you have gained mastery of the tool.

Our advice is to choose the type that is most suitable to the core of your business and set up additional advanced features at a later time.

Create your website

Some test sites have a toolbar with color variants. You can choose one and test it on-line. The selected one will be used to create your new website.
The color theme and other layout parameters can be changed later through the SevenDaysWeb administration interface.

Select and register. When you have chosen the model, press the "Select" button to start creating your website.

Fill out the registration form. The last step is filling out the registration form with the following information:

  • Name of the Website The website name will be saved as a sub-domain of sevendaysweb.com. Example: my-site.sevendaysweb.com
  • E-Mail. You will use the e-mail address as the username to access the website administration; we will use it for notification (registration confirmation, etc ...)
  • Password. It is your password to access the website administration. For your security it should be at least 8 characters long and contain at least one number. Store it safely.
  • Your name. Enter your name.
  • Last name. Enter your last name.
  • Acceptance of terms of use and privacy policy. Check out the terms of use of our services and read our privacy statement before confirming.

Once you have completed the form, press the "Create Your Website" button. It will take a few seconds. You will receive an email notification which asks you to click a confirmation link to complete your registration and provides instructions to get started.
Follow the instructions and soon you'll be able to perfectly manage your new communication tool!
